E-Learning Update!
Parents,
As many of you are aware, Governor McMaster has closed all schools in the state of South Carolina through the end of March. It is an expectation from the South Carolina Department of Education that students engage with content during this extended time out of school. Bluffton Middle School teachers spent time on Friday developing choice boards for each content area at each grade level. These choice boards have sixteen (16) different activities that focus on content that are standards-based and has already been taught this school year.
Every student should complete one (1) activity per day for each content area to include their electives for a total of six (6) learning activities daily.
The teachers will be counting this cumulative work as one (1) summative grade that will be recorded during the 4th quarter grading period. These choice boards will be posted within your child’s teacher’s Google Classroom page where they can complete and submit the assignments. Teachers will be able to grade the work remotely and provide feedback when needed.

You may also access choice boards on the Bluffton Middle School website at https://blms.beaufortschools.net/. All materials will be posted electronically and available beginning tomorrow, Monday the 16th.
During this time away, teachers will be checking e-mail to help answer any questions there may be. You are welcome to reach out to counselors and administration as needed. We will continue to send periodic updates during the closure as we receive communication from district and state officials.
The school will be open from 9 am until 12 pm on Tuesday, March 17th if you need to pick up any essential materials (ie. tablet, instrument, etc.) your child left at school over the weekend. In an effort to help minimize potential spread, no guests will be permitted inside the building. We will have staff on site to collect and distribute these essential materials to you. Como muchos de ustedes saben, el Gobernador McMaster ha cerrado todas las escuelas en el estado de Carolina del Sur hasta fines de Marzo. El Departamento de Educación de Carolina del Sur espera que los estudiantes participen en el contenido durante este tiempo extendido fuera de la escuela. Los maestros de Bluffton Middle School pasaron tiempo el viernes desarrollando tableros de elección para cada área de contenido en cada nivel de grado. Estos tableros de elección tienen dieciséis (16) actividades diferentes que se centran en contenido basado en estándares y que ya se ha enseñado este año escolar.
